Jinendra was rescued from the gender discrimination that is so common in India

Jinendra* had to compete with her brother for basic rights and love from her family. Her father was very disappointed when she was born, and he refused to love her and give any type of affection. He beat her mother until four years later she finally gave birth to a boy. He praised the boy child, smothering him in love. After her brother’s birth, Jinendra’s father demanded she be taken out of school so their full earnings could be spent on developing her brother’s health and future education.

Her mother cried as she told us of the full life she wants her daughter to have without gender discrimination. We have talked to her father about the consequences of him discriminating against his daughter and getting her married early. He has agreed to send her to school!

Now that Jinendra has been rescued, she has a healthy and safe life. Your donations will help to ensure she joins a good school, gets regular counseling, lives in a safe environment, and continues developing towards her dreams and goals.
