Gunavasree was abandoned but is now finding independence through education!

Gunavasree’s* life has been filled with abandonment and grief. Her mother died when she was still young and her father wanted to remarry soon after her death. Gunavasree and her brother begged their father not to remarry, but this only made him angry. Six months later, her father abandoned them, leaving his two children with his parents. The grandparents struggled to care for the children because of their age and other debts. Gunavasree hasn’t seen her father in years.

Our social workers in the field then found Gunavasree and rescued her from daily labor and potential marriage. Loss and abandonment caused her to become isolated and discouraged. But now, she loves attending school and is finding more independence and meaning in life. With your support, we can continue to provide Gunavasree with food and support for her studies and a safe place to live!
